MTS job profile: It is a non technical job & duties of MTS will vary depending on the ministry/ office they are posted.Mostly, it would involve office/ record maintenance, carry letters or files to respective section/ office, perform non-clerical work such as taking sending faxes, taking photocopies etc.,

Who are Eligible?

To apply for SSC MTS 2017 exam, you need to satisfy the following conditions,

  • Agelimit: 18 – 25 years as on August 1, 2017 (OBC: +3 yrs, SC/ST: +5 yrs)
  • Should have passed std.12th on or before 1.08.2017

Since the minimum educational qualification is set as pass in std.XII, candidates who have completed degree are also eligible to apply.


Selection Process

All eligible applicants must appear for an online written exam that will have two papers – Paper I (objective type) & Paper II (descriptive type).

Only those who qualify in paper I by scoring the necessary cutoffs would be invited to appear for paper II.

There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.Also, SSC may fix separate cutoff marks for each section that will be decided by them after the test.




Paper II consists of short essay & letter writing that needs to be answered in english language or any other regional language (see list in notification)
